Travel Magazine
The Objective:
My task was to redesign a cover and spreads for a special issue of
a magazine.
The Solution:
I wanted to create a semi simple design with a neutral colour scheme to imply a relaxed feeling. The article is about vacations to some favourite islands in North America so my aim was for readers to feel the options for exploration and relaxation.

MAGAZINE COVER
I redesigned the cover page to fit the theme of the special series of spreads. This includes the imagery and colours of which I carried through the rest of the deliverables.
The masthead is the logo and the colour can be changed to fit the theme of the next issue. A consistent element that will be run through the different issue covers will be a cropped image and an element of the photo overlapping the logo.
MAGAZINE SPREADS
The concept for the spreads is the photos of each islands makes the rough shape of the land. I had a different highlight colour for each island, of which are all in the imagery. I kept the background white with a reasonable amount of negative space to keep the focus on the text and imagery.

A charming downtown edge waterfront
TRAVEL KIT
An addition to the issue is a limit edition travel cosmetic kit. This include empty bottles that people can fill and write the contents. The user is also able to label the bag with their name and document the islands they visited.
